August Robotics is proud to announce the release of our long-awaited paint mechanism innovation called Lionel PX.

“PX” is a reference to the word pixel and is fitting since this new marking mechanism change paints marks as a series of dots (just as a computer image is a matrix of pixels). Our currently fielded paint-spray Lionel robots are still delivering the fastest and most accurate floor marking experience - PX takes this a step further by improving the paint drying and maintenance experience for operators.

Ready for prime-time

Lionel PX is available to all new customers and to existing customers via a simple parts swap that can be conducted during regular scheduled maintenance

We have tested PX in multiple venues and conditions around the world and have achieved consistently better performance in multiple performance metrics including:

• 80% faster drying time
• 50% more marks per bottle
• 20% faster marking speed
• 50% more line resolution

These improved metrics result in significant time savings during show builds and just as importantly, for pack-down and hall surface restoration and cleaning. Lionel PX also allows the entire paint system to operate at lower pressures which improves paint nozzle performance and reduces the risk of blockages and other mechanical faults.

Our development is centred around client feedback, allowing us to focus on improvements that deliver immediate value. Our most common request from clients has been the need for marks that are thinner and easier to clean. Fulfilling this need became the focus of several development cycles.

Intuitively this could mean innovating on our paint or on how we actually paint marks. On review of multiple options on the market and some time tinkering in the research laboratory, the team finally settled on a solution that delivered better marks with less paint.
