Messukeskus Cuts Marking Time with Lionel

Since 2023, Messukeskus, Finland’s largest exhibition and convention centre, has been using Lionel, August Robotics’ autonomous floor marking robot, to streamline event setup and reduce on-site workload.

Previously, floor marking could take up to twelve hours and required full-day manual effort from staff. With three robots now operating in parallel, the same task is completed in just 4–6 hours — without any staff required on-site during operation. The entire process is monitored remotely, with the operator occasionally stopping by the hall.

According to the team, the transition has significantly reduced physical workload while maintaining high levels of accuracy and reliability.
